Description

This creamy Monterey Chicken One Pan Orzo is the ultimate comfort food—made with tender chicken, sour cream, BBQ sauce, orzo pasta, and crispy fried onions. Baked in one skillet for easy cleanup and bold, cheesy flavor in every bite.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked shredded chicken

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed chicken soup

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 2 cups baby spinach (optional)

  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil and add cooked shredded chicken.

  • Stir in condensed chicken soup, sour cream, BBQ sauce, salt, pepper, and uncooked orzo.

  • Fold in spinach and half of the Monterey Jack cheese.

  • Top with remaining cheese and crispy fried onions.

  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can swap BBQ sauce with buffalo sauce for a spicy version.

Add frozen peas or sautéed mushrooms for extra texture.
